ENGINEERED 4-LAYER PROTECTION BUILT TO KEEP BEES ALIVE ALL WINTER
Loved Across Beekeeping Clubs & Communities
Universal Fit For 8 & 10-Frame Langstroth Hives
Stop struggling with makeshift foam boards and flimsy roofing felt that tears in the first windstorm. The Winter Beehive Wrap is precision engineered for standard Langstroth 8-frame and 10-frame setups. With its expandable industrial Velcro seam and dual heavy-duty buckle cinch straps, you get a custom-tailored, draft-free thermal seal in seconds — without obstructing bottom entrances or critical upper ventilation.
Your Bees Can Cluster Warmly — Without Burning Through Stored Honey Before Spring
In freezing winter conditions, honey bees tightly cluster together, vibrating their flight muscles around the clock to maintain 95°F core temperatures. The colder and windier the hive exterior, the more stored honey the cluster must consume to stay alive. When honey stores run out in late winter, colonies starve inches from empty comb. Our advanced 4-layer thermal barrier slows exterior heat loss, blocks sub-zero drafts, and reflects cluster warmth — helping your bees stay warmer, burn less honey, and enter spring strong and healthy.
What Changes After Wrapping Your Hives In Under 60 Seconds
From dreading frozen winter dead-outs and stapling messy tar paper to opening thriving, honey-packed colonies every spring.
Stop Waiting For Sudden Cold Snaps To Threaten Your Colonies
Uninsulated single-wall hives lose heat rapidly during bitter cold snaps and windstorms. The Winter Beehive Wrap gives your hives instant thermal defense before freezing weather arrives.
Wrap, Velcro, And Cinch The Heavy-Duty Buckles
Wrap the insulated blanket around your hive body, seal the industrial Velcro seam, and pull the dual buckle cinch straps tight. No staples, no cutting foam, and no wood damage.
Keep Cold Winds Out While Preserving Critical Ventilation
The breathable wrap shields hive walls against sub-zero drafts while leaving bottom entrances and top ventilation slots completely open, preventing deadly moisture and condensation.
Open Thriving Colonies With Honey Left Over
Because your bees burn significantly less honey fighting the cold, they enter spring strong, healthy, and ready for explosive early brood rearing and early honey flows.
A Smarter Way To Winterize Your Hives
See why experienced beekeepers are abandoning messy tar paper, brittle foam boards, and risky uninsulated setups
OUR 4-LAYER WRAP
- Installs in under 60 seconds with no staples, tape, or tools
- Proven 4-layer insulation with radiant heat-reflecting foil
- Black 600D Oxford outer shell absorbs ambient solar heat
- Heavy-duty cinch buckles withstand 50+ mph winter gusts
- 100% reusable for years — folds flat for compact summer storage
TRADITIONAL DIY METHODS
- Tar paper tears, requires dozens of staples that ruin hive boxes
- Rigid foam board requires tedious measuring, cutting, and tape
- Cheap single-layer plastic wraps tear and offer zero true insulation
- High colony mortality leads to $160+ spring replacement nuc costs
- Leaves you constantly worrying every time temperatures plummet
Real wintering wins from backyard beekeepers, hobbyists, and multi-hive apiary owners.
Way better than freezing my fingers stapling tar paper in November. I checked my hives with an internal temp sensor and the wrapped hive was 10 degrees warmer. All 4 survived!
Bought 3 of these before our first major blizzard. They stayed tight all winter through heavy snow and high winds. Saved all my girls.
The reflective inner lining and solar black exterior make a visible difference. My bees came out flying on the first 50-degree day full of vigor.
This is exactly what every beekeeper needs in their gear shed — durable, reusable, and saves you hundreds in replacement bee packages.

This is more than another piece of canvas—it is an engineered 4-layer thermal shield designed to reduce colony heat loss, protect honey stores, and ensure your bees thrive until spring.
How is this different from traditional roofing tar paper or foam boards?
How is this different from traditional roofing tar paper or foam boards?
Tar paper requires dozens of staples that splinter hive woodware and rips in high winds, while foam boards require messy cutting and taping. Our 4-layer wrap slips on in under 60 seconds, seals with full-length industrial Velcro, cinches with heavy-duty buckles, and reflects radiant heat back to the cluster—all while remaining 100% reusable year after year.
Which hive sizes does the wrap fit?
Which hive sizes does the wrap fit?
The wrap is engineered to fit standard Langstroth 8-frame and 10-frame hives. The generous Velcro overlap and adjustable buckle straps allow you to achieve a snug, custom fit whether you are running single-deep or double-deep winter setups.
Can moisture or condensation build up inside the hive?
Can moisture or condensation build up inside the hive?
No. Excess moisture is the leading cause of winter bee mortality. Our wrap is specifically cut to insulate hive sidewalls while leaving top ventilation holes and bottom entrance reducers completely open. This allows moist, warm air from the cluster to vent freely while preventing freezing drafts from cooling the box.
When should I install the wrap on my hives?
When should I install the wrap on my hives?
Install the wrap in late autumn after your final fall varroa treatments and supplemental feeding are complete, right around the time daytime temperatures consistently stay below 50°F (10°C). When temperatures warm up consistently in mid-spring, simply unbuckle the wrap, fold it flat, and store it for next winter.
